Amsterdam Venice of the North

What makes both the charm of this town, that's history in the 17th fragrance accents, mixed with modernity, creating an atmosphere that is relaxed and welcoming. The buildings on a human scale, intimate streets, canals and squares, creating an atmosphere that can not be found anywhere else. No other European city has as many monuments and museums per square kilometer. As for the name Amsterdam, it dates back to the twelfth century, when it built a dam (dam in Dutch) on the Amstel River.

The city even boasts of having the highest density of museums in the world with such prestigious institutions as the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House, Hermitage Amsterdam and the Rijksmuseum, which houses the famous Night Watch Rembrandt. Other places of interest in the capital include the Palace on Dam Square, the Amsterdam Museum, Artis Zoo, the Museum of Jewish history and the Rembrandt House.
